The Mix Tape series joins a lifetime of memories: cassettes, albums, the Virgin Mary, the complex beating heart, and the mysterious deep-sea kraken come together to form these mixed-tape, mixed-media images.

Take Heart explores grief and resilience.

After the loss of my husband to a sudden heart attack, I have had many discussions about the heart, how it works and why it fails to work. I no longer see this muscle as a simple shape that is drawn on Valentine's Day but as an intricate machine that beats steadily to a rhythm, pumping blood to the beat of music, of life, and of love.

I have spent many hours with my son in the snow. When he was little, I took him ice fishing. He is now a man, and we still ice fish together. Snowflakes turn into inches, time turns a little boy into a man.
